A light display will be available for people to view this next month.

iLLUMINATE is a display of over 40 professional light displays at Weed Park in Muscatine. This is being put on by Crossroads.

“We hope it will become a new holiday tradition for families in Muscatine and the surrounding communities,” said Megan Francis Marketing Director for Crossroads.

This is a fundraiser being held for Crossroads for the senior services they provide.

“It is time to iLLUMINATE the importance of choice for seniors and people with disabilities, the value of inclusion in our community, and the vital work provided by Direct Support Professionals. We wanted to shine a light on Crossroads mission, our clients, and our employees so we decided why not illuminate a whole park,” Francis said. “One hundred percent of the funds raised from donations will support services for seniors and people with disabilities through CROSSROADS and Senior Resources.”

The light display will go from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve. To view the light display, free-will donations will be accepted from each vehicle.

To help cover the cost of the display, Crossroads asked local businesses to sponsor the event.

“Generous sponsors have contributed time and money to help us bring this event to Muscatine,” Francis said. “This has been a labor of love. It is really about creating moments of joy and coming together as a community to support each other.”

iLLUMINATE runs until New Year’s Eve so there is still time if a sponsor wants to get involved or if someone would like to volunteer.

“This event is not possible with nightly volunteers to help collect donations, guide traffic, count cars, and hand out brochures,” Francis said. “Interested volunteers can sign up on the Crossroads website and Facebook page or contact Megan Francis at [email protected].”
