Next weekend, the City of West Liberty will come alive for the holidays.
The city’s annual “Holiday Open House” kicks off Nov. 18 starting at 10 a.m. It will end that Saturday at 4 p.m. On Sunday, Nov. 19, the Holiday Open House will be from 1 – 5 p.m.
There are several activities families can come to West Liberty to enjoy.
“We will have a petting zoo the whole weekend, chime choir, Carolers, Alpacas, campfire/smores, Santa and Mrs. Claus, WhoVille in Ron-De-Voo on Sunday,” said West Liberty’s Chamber of Commerce Director Charles Brooke. “Holiday Market is returning for the whole weekend as well and you can meet Olaf from Frozen on Saturday. Liberty Public House will have Trivia Night on Saturday- doors open at 6 p.m. Many other things are coming together, too.”
There are multiple groups helping this year besides businesses to get the weekend to come together.
“Aquarius is lending a hand at the movie theatre for piano students,” Brooke said. “High School choir is performing, and many of our sponsors in eastern Iowa that can’t be there or have a business outside of our downtown area have sent in sponsorships to help with our many events during the weekend.”

“Holidays should always be celebrated,” Brooke said. “Holidays bring everyone together and it’s always the best time to get your name out there if you are a new business or looking for new customers and clients. Some of the best customer service and smiles come from small-town businesses.”
The West Liberty Chamber of Commerce thanks everyone in the area who is a part of the event.
