Why are you running for election?
As an independent, I can work with both sides and will encourage and lead them to find the things the City Council has in common and try to block out the differences. The only goal is to do what is best for Muscatine. As City Engineer I had unique on-site into how to double our investment in better streets without raising or creating a new tax. I also feel the City needs to be more aggressive in encouraging developers to build in the City.
What is the most important issue facing your office? Why does it matter? How will you address it?
Lack of a community view. I will work with the Council to make sure whatever is done is best for Muscatine.
What is the second most important issue facing your office? Why does it matter? How will you address it?
Better Streets. My infrastructure plan can accomplish this without increasing any current taxes.
If elected, what steps would you take to improve perceptions of Muscatine in the surrounding area?
Tell all who would listen about how I feel about Muscatine. I feel it is a great place to live, work and play. Get the City staff and Council to work out a list of planned improvements that everybody will support.
What is the most important thing you would like voters to know about you that they may not?
When I graduated from College I wrote down 8 things I was going to do. Number 8 was run for office.
