NICHOLS, Iowa–Kurt Kirchner, from Nichols is running for Muscatine County Board of Supervisors in District Two. He is running as a republican in the June 7 primary election. He has lived in Muscatine County his entire life and served in various volunteer positions. A 44 year employee of Liqui-Grow, an Iowa-based commercial fertilizer company, he has extensive experience in the ag industry and in the challenges faced by rural communities. Kirchner and his wife, Sue Kirchner, reside on their family farm north of Nichols and have been involved with ag their entire lives.
In addition, Kirchner has been a member of the West Liberty Country Club for 20 years, a 4-H leader, and a member of the Muscatine County Fair board for over 30 years. Kirchner’s main goal is to, “support county services functions that increase overall quality of life for the people who live here.”‘
When he is not working or volunteering, Kirchner spends time attending activities for his children’s families, which includes four grandchildren. All are residents of Muscatine county.
Kirchner states, “I have enjoyed a great life in Muscatine County and look forward to an opportunity to give back.”
