MUSCATINE, Iowa–At the June 7 Muscatine City Council meeting, Lieutenant Jeff Jirak received a life saving award. On June 23, Jirak responded to a 911 call an unresponsive female without a pulse. Upon arriving at the scene, Jirak performed CPR for two minutes. At that time, the Muscatine Fire Department arrived and determined the victim had a pulse again. They credited Jirak with saving her life. Jirak has served the Muscatine Police Department for the past 30 years.
