Make it Muscatine: Bridgeside Links

MUSCATINE, Iowa–When Sportsplex owner Luke Meeker realized he had too many golf simulators and not enough space for them, he could have simply sold or stored them. However, he saw them as the perfect opportunity to start a new business. He saw them as the catalyst for a unique bar and grill where people not only watched golf on TV but actually got to play. Meeker set his sights on the old Salvation Army building at 1005 West Second Street and got to work completely revamping it. Almost exactly two years ago in the winter of 2019, Meeker opened Bridgeside Links.

Bridgeside Links, located at 1005 West Second Street, Muscatine.

A unique part of the Muscatine restaurant scene, Bridgeside Links has amenities to appeal to everyone. Anyone wanting to get in a game of golf or improve their swing (especially during the cold winter months when snow blankets outdoor golf courses) can take advantage of their indoor golf simulators. With affordable hourly rates and multiple simulators available, Bridgeside Links serves as a go to for golf enthusiasts and casual players looking to keep improving their game throughout the year.

For the young and young at heart, Bridgeside Links’ game room offers hours of entertainment. Featuring favorites like electronic dartboards and a large selection of different arcade games, the game room provides options for those looking for something to play other than golf.

As a full service bar and grill, Bridgeside Links has many food and drink options to satisfy all tastes. Along with a full bar, Bridgeside Links has an impressive list of both domestic and craft beers, including some from Muscatine’s own Contrary Brewery. A menu stocked with classic appetizers to munch on, customizable pizza and sandwich options, and a good variety of tacos and wings provides great eats for all occasions. Along with having a spacious public seating area, Bridgeside Links also has a private party room available to rent as well.

Over the last two years, Bridgeside Links has taken a classic Muscatine location and reimagined it into a vibrant new space the community will enjoy for years to come. To continue this mission into the future, Bridgeside Links joined the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry in June 2020. “We joined the Chamber because a lot of what the Chamber wants is also what we want for Muscatine,” explained Bridgeside Links Bar Manager Isaiah Phillips: “Muscatine has both a beautiful history and an exciting future. The chamber tries to cultivate that future, while keeping our history in mind, and that’s something Luke wholeheartedly believes in doing as well.”

Whether you want to try a new restaurant, golf in a comfortably temperature-controlled environment, or host a special event, Bridgeside Links has the facilities to meet your needs. You can stop in and give them a visit Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. or Friday or Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. If you would like to reserve their party room, they welcome your call at (563) 261-7460.
