MUSCATINE, Iowa–For more than 30 years, Alice Ganzley worked in finance and accounting. When she lost her job in 2015, she felt ready for a change and wanted to operate a business of her own.
Though Ganzley did not have prior experience with embroidery, she had an interest in creating custom work and purchased an industrial embroidery machine. She taught herself how to use it, and as her skills increased, she began customizing clothing for others and taking her work to decorated apparel shows. She incorporated her business as Alice’s Threadland LLC in August of 2015.
After two years of successfully adding custom details to clothing and other textiles, Ganzley expanded the number of products she could offer by getting a 54 inch wide printer and laminator. With this new device, Ganzey started offering screen printed and vinyl transfer apparel and textile designs, vehicle graphics ranging from small decals to full car wraps, window decals or signs, banners, gallery wrapped framed canvases, banners, an assortment of stickers, and much more. She can also help clients create the custom designs and logos they would like to use on the products they order from her. With the addition of these new products, Ganzley changed the name of her business to Everlasting Impressions.
A meticulous designer, Ganzley can provide professional artist color matching for images reprinted on canvases or other products. Based on the product clients would like customized, Ganzley can improve the quality of images to make sure they print beautifully or program the embroidery machine to copy the design clients provide in the correct thread colors.
Ganzley runs her business out of her home with the help of her two sons. She encourages anyone interested in having customized apparel or decorative items made to reach out to her by emailing [email protected], calling or texting 563-299-3691, or sending a Facebook message to the Everlasting Impressions Facebook page. Ganzley typically works between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, but can frequently answer messages outside of working hours and on weekends as well.
For several years, Ganzley had taken an interest in the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s events and activities. At the suggestion of one of her clients, Ganzley started talking with the chamber about membership and decided to join them. “I recently met with Hannah and was excited to get started,” Ganzley said. “We’re looking forward to working with the chamber and other Muscatine businesses.”
For the past six years Ganzley has appreciated all of the business and support she has received from Muscatine County residents. As a Muscatine native herself, Ganzley anticipates many more years of helping people in the Muscatine area meet their custom clothing and custom image item needs. “I was born and raised in Muscatine and lived here my entire life–having the familiarity with the people of Muscatine and local businesses has been very helpful to our business,” Ganzley added.
