MUSCATINE, Iowa–A veteran of the restaurant business, Andy Alimoski and his wife opened the Wilton Café in 2004. The pair loved creating scrumptious home cooking for their customers and fell in love with the local community. Seven years ago, the Alimoski’s, thrilled with the Wilton Cafe’s popularity, decided they wanted to open an additional restaurant in Muscatine and bought the Muscatine Family Restaurant. “They always supported me in Wilton, so I though I’d come to Muscatine too,” Andy Alimoski recalls. The Alimoski’s sons share their enthusiasm for running local eateries, with Sakir Alimoski continuing to operate the Wilton Café and Arty’s Ice Cream & Grill and Bojamin “Boni” Alimoski owning the Muscatine Waffle and Pancake House.
Ever since the Alimoskis started running the Muscatine Family Restaurant, they have strived to offer the best food possible by using the freshest ingredients and making as much as they can from scratch. Andy especially encourages people to try their House Chicken, which comes with a special dipping sauce the Alimoskis created themselves. With a large variety of breakfast and lunch or dinner specials available throughout the day, the Muscatine Family restaurant has just the right items no matter what appeals to you.
Recently, the Muscatine Family Restaurant updated its menu, giving dinners many new choices while keeping their old favorites. As always, the Alimoskis strive to keep prices affordable so that people can visit often. “With the economy the way it is, I try to keep prices as low as possible,” Andy Alimoski stressed.
After years of working in Muscatine, Andy Alimoski finds that he enjoys getting to work with all of the friendly customers who come through the door each day. “I enjoy talking with customers and getting the opportunity to serve them,” he said.
As the Muscatine Family Restaurant continues to serve the good homecooked meals that make it a local favorite, the Alimoskis decided to join the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry to help more people learn about them and to give back to the community. “They’ve always supported us, and the whole community supports us, so we wanted to help them,” explained Andy Alimoski. “I’ve very proud of it,” he added. “The best things happen in Muscatine and Muscatine County.
Whatever tasty food you crave, the Muscatine Family Restaurant will have something for you. If you have not stopped out to the Muscatine Family Restaurant, located at 1903 Park Avenue, Muscatine, Andy Alimoski encourages you to do so. “Try the food and the experience–we get lots of good comments!” he enthused.
The Muscatine Family Restaurant also has many job openings available. Andy Alimoski welcomes any interested job seekers to stop out at the restaurant and inquire about specific positions and shifts available.
