    • The MHS Orchestras and Percussion Ensemble will be presenting their Pops Concert on March 4th. The concert is closed to the public at large, but each student was given two tickets to give to whomever they wished. The concert will be live streamed on Facebook Live, so if you don’t have a ticket, join us on Facebook and enjoy the concert!
      The performance times are:
      5pm: Freshmen Orchestra
      6pm: Philharmonic Orchestra
      7pm: Chamber Orchestra/Percussion Ensemble/Symphony Orchestra

    • Silver Cord Hours: The Food & Nutrition Department is providing a free meal pick up service at Central Middle School on Wednesday & Thursday for families in our community. We need help packing meals and carrying boxes and bags to cars.  Please email [email protected] for details.
    • MHS Parent Teacher Conferences: Muscatine High School will be holding Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences virtually through Google meets. We have developed a site where you will be able to click on the name of the teacher and select a date and time to conference with that teacher. Once you have confirmed your meeting, you will receive a Google Meet link that will be used at the time of the conference. If you prefer an in-person meeting, a form is available on the website for you to fill out and we will be in contact with you in regards to those.     • The 2021 FFA Banquet will be held on April 6th at 6:30 pm in the High School Gym. All FFA members and their Families are invited. Details and RSVP to come later this month.
    • 2020-21 Yearbook Order Date has been extended to May 3, 2021! $56 per yearbook. Payment can be made online using InTouch via Parent PowerSchool portal, MHS Attendance Center, or by mail. Complete details: 2020-21 Yearbook Order Details
    • Kirkwood Community College representative will be at MHS Friday, March 5th at 11:15am. If you would like to attend the meeting, please email Allie Meineke at [email protected]. No walk-ins allowed. 
    • REMINDER! Seniors: The MHS Local Scholarship Packet is now live and accepting applications.     • Seniors: Deadlines are fast approaching for scholarship applications and financial aid offers. Our Americorps Student Leaders have office hours in the library. The Student Leaders will hold their office hours in the Library at the round table near the circulation desk on the following schedule:
      • Ana Poffenbaugh – Lunch C Muskie Time on Monday and Wednesday
      • Rebekah McNeely – Lunch A Muskie Time on Thursday and Friday
      • Audrey Seibel – Lunch A Muskie Time on Tuesday and Thursday
        This is a great opportunity for you to receive help with your local scholarship packet, essays or applications for outside scholarships, FSAID creation, FAFSA completion, etc. They have been trained in everything and are ready, willing and able to help! We receive weekly reports from the state on FAFSA completion and will be contacting seniors who have not completed and submitted theirs yet.

    • Lost & Found:  If you have lost an item, please stop at the Attendance Center to see if it has been turned in.  Items turned in recently are air pods, lunch boxes, clothing, and jewelry. You will need to provide details of the items lost such as color, etc.

    • Registering Your Electronics: Worried about your electronics being stolen? Want to make sure you remember your serial number? We have just the program for you!
      Stop down and See Officer Pena to register your electronics. This program is a free program and that registers any electronics that you bring to school. The program hopes to prevent theft from happening but also to ensure that we have any and all serial numbers on file in the event that something does get taken.  Any electronics can be registered.     • ACT Academy Test Prep: All students have free access to the ACT Academy test prep online. The link below includes the instructions for log in whether you have or have not logged in in the past. Please contact Mrs. Hawkins with any questions.  ACT Academy Test Prep
    • FREE MEALS for all kids 18 (older when enrolled in school) and under. (USDA announced that they would be extending the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)). We will also provide a pick-up site at Central for parents, guardians or a designee (such as an older sibling) to pick up meals for multiple days for those not attending school in person, too young to attend school and weekend meals.  Survey to pick up meals at Central
    • If your student is having issues with their district-issued laptop connecting to the internet, Google Meets, Google Classroom, TeamBuildr, etc., please call 563-263-6141 and you will be connected to the MHS Tech Dept. or email MHS Tech Dept. at Jose or Korey with your computer issue. For students without internet access, the district has a limited number of hotspots that can be loaned out at no cost to the students. Please call the help desk at (563) 770-0212 for hotspot availability or, email [email protected]

    • Silver Cord Form:  Students recording hours of volunteer service during their years at MHS will be awarded a Silver Cord to wear at graduation. In order for volunteer hours to count towards a Silver Cord, students must complete the online form to verify. Silver Cord Form
    • BookDash Service: The MHS Library is continuing to offer our BookDash service!! Any student who needs (or wants) more books to read during virtual learning can complete the BookDash order form. * More information is available on the MHS Library website or the linked flyer. Curbside pick up is recommended!
      *All visitors entering MHS must use the front doors and masks are required. Books must be picked up within one week of the ‘ready email’. Email Mrs. Keltner at [email protected] with questions!
    • Vehicle Registration Form/Parking Tags: If you are a new driver to MHS and do not have an MHS Parking Tag, you will need to pick up & complete a Vehicle Registration Form. Vehicle Registration Form  Students that have a parking tag from last year will continue to use that parking tag. If you no longer have the parking tag, please stop in the Student Services office.
    • DOT Minor School License Form: DOT Minor School License Form Forms are available in the MHS Main Office – Rm-11-001. (You must have completed Driver’s Ed in order to submit this form.)  Instructions: Please complete Sections 1 and 3. (Leave Section 2 blank) and return to the Main Office.

    • Orchestra Fundraiser: Orchestra students are selling coffee, tea, hot cocoa, snacks, and MUCH MORE to support the Orchestra program here at MHS!  The orchestra program will earn 30% of all sales made in this fundraiser and will help the orchestra in buying new music, repairing instruments and new strings!       Service qualifies for Silver Cord recognition if:

      • The student is not paid for the service
      • The student does not receive credit for the service.
      • The service is not for the purpose of fundraising for a group/activity/team that the student participates in.
        *140 hours are required for students in the Class of 2021, 2022 and 2023.
        *160 hours are required for students graduating in the Class of 2024.

If so, this is your chance to purchase a yearbook that reflects those school years and memories! Each yearbook is $20 until sold out. All proceeds go back into the Yearbook Club to purchase new equipment and expand the program for students.
