Why are you running for election?

I believe we must protect and defend the Constitutional and all Amendment rights of all Iowans, cultivating the health, wealth, and prosperity of our citizens. As a veteran, my oath to the Constitution never ends. I am running for office to serve my fellow citizens … all of them.

What are the three most important issues facing your office over the next term?

Stop the Brain Drain/Workforce Crisis. Support Labor, train and attract employees with good-paying jobs to serve the needs of Iowan’s.

Funding public education and ensuring our schools are safe.

Extreme legislation that attacks personal freedoms and individuals’ right to privacy, guaranteed by the Constitution.

What are the three most important issues facing Muscatine County over the next term?

Expanding affordable healthcare, women’s reproductive healthcare, mental health care access to Muscatine County citizens.

Overcoming barriers to affordable housing opportunities for Muscatine County residents regardless of socio-economic status.

Move from fossil fuel energy dependence to renewable sustainable sources.

What is the most important thing you would like voters to know about you that they may not?

As a private citizen, I worked to get Iowa’s Hemp Act signed into law and wrote the Veterans in Crisis Care Act which became practice of the Iowa Department of Public Health for a 24-hour hold of any suicidal Iowan seeking help at our hospital emergency rooms. I led the bipartisan legislative efforts to benefit all Iowans.
