MUSCATINE, Iowa – Quick work by the Muscatine Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation resulted in finding a missing Muscatine female safe and the arrest of a Minnesota man who allegedly kidnapped the 14-year-old female earlier this week.

Luis Alfredo Moreira Bravo, 26, Edina, Minn., was arrested in St. Paul, Minn., by the FBI and the St. Paul Police Department. He has been charged in Iowa with Kidnapping, 1st Degree, and is also facing charges in Minnesota. The female was found safe and alive in St. Paul, Minn., at 4 p.m. on Thursday (May 7, 2020) in the presence of Bravo.

The female was reported missing to the Muscatine Police Department on Wednesday (May 6, 2020). Officers met with family members, gathered information, and attempted to locate the female at friend’s and relative’s residences.

The Investigative Unit of the Muscatine Police Department became involved in this missing juvenile incident on Thursday (May 7, 2020) morning after information was found that the female may have become connected through social media with an adult male from Minnesota. Muscatine Police enlisted the help of the Federal Bureau of Investigations out of the Quad Cities with the investigation.

The incident is still under investigation by the Muscatine Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigations and the St. Paul Police Department.

The above individual is considered innocent of any crimes until proven otherwise by a court of law.
