MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine Diabetes Project has been selected as a beneficiary for the month of November in the Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program that supports local non-profits.
The Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program, which launched in Nov. 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities’ customers live and work.
The Muscatine Diabetes Project was selected as the November beneficiary of the program by store leadership at the Muscatine Hy-Vee Grocery Store and Hy-Vee Mainstreet located at 2400 Second Avenue and 510 East Sixth Street. The Muscatine Diabetes Project will receive a $1 donation every time a $2.50 red “My Heart” reusable bag is purchased at these locations during November, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.
“We’re excited to be chosen as the November beneficiary. November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, which honors people living with diabetes,” said Co-Founder and President of the Muscatine Diabetes Project Kim Seligman: “This donation will help us ensure that all people impacted by diabetes are empowered by knowledge, encouraged by action, and supported by community. There’s joy in the journey as we walk alongside each other in helping prevent diabetes and improve outcomes!”
The Muscatine Diabetes Project is a non-profit based in Muscatine, Iowa.
