MUSCATINE, Iowa–Big congratulations in order for the Muscatine FFA. Yesterday, they attended three state contests with five teams (including several from the junior high school) and had all teams in the top 10 of their respective career development events.
Floriculture earned third high team with Matthew Reissen earning reserve champion individual honors. Along with him, the team included Alyssa Hall, Anna Sharar, and McKenna Kopf.
The high school horse judging team captured reserve champion overall team. Leah Cortez was the ninth high individual. Her teammates included Becca Potter, Emily King, and Maddie Fisher.
The middle school had two teams competing in the middle school state horse judging contest. One of the teams earned reserve state champion, only falling to the state champion team by one point. The other team placed third overall. Kensley Paul was the state champion individual! Those on the Second place team included Mallory Bruhn, Kelsey Heath, and Alex Blair. On the third place team, Kensley Paul, Erin Overturff, and Kiley Whimmer.
Finally, the Muscatine FFA nursery and landscaping team placed as the new state champions! Those representing the state of Iowa at nationals include: Jamie Sprague, McKenna Riess, Belinda Brain and Logan Rinnert. All four claimed a stake in the top 10 individually with Logan 10th, Jamie sixth, McKenna third, and Belinda as your state champion individual!
