Muscatine man is charged with sexual abuse, assault

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Due to the alert and quick actions of two citizens, officers of the Muscatine Police Department were able to intervene and stop a sexual assault Wednesday (June 16) in the Park Plaza Mobile Home Park.

 

Two citizens who were out for a walk Wednesday when they observed a female inside of 6 Jeff Drive break out a window and call out for help. The citizens immediately called 911 and Muscatine Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene. As officers arrived, they discovered what appeared to be a sexual assault in progress. 

 

After further investigation, officers arrested Jeromy Griffith, 38 (DOB 05/13/1983), of 6 Jeff Drive on charges of Sexual Abuse 3rd degree and Serious Domestic Assault. The case remains under investigation and additional charges may be pending.

 

Griffith is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
