Consider donating blood between now and April 15 during the Muscatine Community School District’s Muskie Madness Blood Drive! Seven of our schools are competing to see who can bring in the most donations.
Check this out; each school has a chance to win a $270 LifeSavings grant from ImpactLife, so long as they can get 20 (or more) donors. The schools can use the grants to fund projects or buy supplies, all while teaching our students the importance of donating blood.
Here’s how it works. Visit the ImpactLife Muscatine Donor Center (located next to big Hy-Vee). Once you’re there, tell the staff you want to participate in Muskie Madness and give them one of the school’s codes (that I will include below). It’s that easy!
Here’s what I know. There is always a need for blood in hospitals across the region. Some folks donate every eight weeks and are committed to doing so. From ImpactLife’s website, “less than 10% of the entire population donates blood.”
have to give a shout-out to Madison Elementary School’s sixth grade leadership students, who have created several promotional items for the blood drive. They were guests on the Muscatine Today Show, recorded a video commercial (that you can view via the Muscatine Community School District’s social media outlets), and recorded a PSA that is currently airing on both radio stations in Muscatine. Great work, Madison Muskies!
I would be remiss if I also didn’t say thank you to Madison Elementary School’s Olivia Foglesong. She put the Muskie Madness Blood Drive together and has done a great job getting the word out. Thank you, Olivia, for making this happen!
Back to the Muskie Madness Blood Drive. When you arrive at the ImpactLife donor center, use these codes to correspond with the school you’d like to support:
- Muscatine Early Learning Center – 4941
- Madison Elementary School – 4942
- Grant Elementary School – 4943
- Mulberry Elementary School – 4944
- Jefferson Elementary School – 4945
- McKinley Elementary School – 4946
- Franklin Elementary School – 4947
Thank you in advance for supporting this effort and making a difference in the lives of others! I know the staff at ImpactLife also appreciate your blood donations, and I want to thank all of them for working hard.
