MUSCATINE, Iowa–Progress Muscatine launched RePower Muscatine, a series of educational videos intended to help the community understand energy production, energy transition options, and steps individuals and communities can take to become energy independent.
Episode one, “Financing Solar Power for Schools, Churches, and Government Facilities” includes information presented by Terry Dvorak of Red Lion Renewables, an Iowa based company. Dvorak outlines the transition process for schools, churches, and government facilities, including how power purchase agreements work, timing with tax credits, opportunities for financial savings, and options for owning the solar installations, when budgets allow.
“Energy transition options presented in our first episode can be a big win for everyone involved. We’re talking about millions of dollars in savings over the next 30 years,” said Jessica Brackett, Board President, Progress Muscatine.
The video will air on public access tv and will be available at www.ProgressMuscatine.org, and the Progress Muscatine Facebook page. Learn more about this process at www.Redlionrenewables.com
