Muscatine! Are we ready to welcome 40,000 bicyclists during RAGBRAI? That’s right, on Saturday, July 29, Muscatine will be the second to last stop for RAGBRAI! We’re calling it the Double Dip in the Mississip! So many organizations and volunteers are working hard to make this event successful! All we need is good weather!

The last time RAGBRAI came to Muscatine was in 2016, and I had a front-row seat working as an emcee on top of a semi-truck bed welcoming riders. I didn’t think we would see RAGBRAI back in our community, but here we are, and it is most exciting!

So, what can you do? I would head to the riverfront to welcome riders and enjoy the live music and festivities starting at 8:30 a.m.! Chris Boar and Brenda Christensen (the wonder twins behind Almost Friday Fest) have a fun schedule of events to welcome riders. Muscatine RAGBRAI will be passing out 700 watermelon slices for free! I want to thank the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and everyone working behind the scenes. This includes the volunteers that will be present on July 29 and ready to go.

No, I will not be riding in RAGBRAI, but I have the utmost respect for those that will be. How about Muscatine’s Greg Harper (Harper’s Cycling & Fitness), who has been on every RAGBRAI! That’s an unbelievable feat and something I know Greg is very proud of!

So, get ready for RAGBRAI back in Muscatine on July 29!
