MUSCATINE, Iowa–Senior Resources feels excited to announce their annual Community Cookout Fundraiser will happen while maintaining the safety of our community. Senior Resources, a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization has assisted disadvantaged older and elderly residents in Muscatine County for over 45 years.

During the unprecedented times of the last 12 weeks, this highly susceptible population has faced fear and isolation as these residents and their caregivers work to remain safe and healthy. The services Senior Resources provides disadvantaged residents matter more than ever.

Traditionally, Senior Resources holds a community picnic and cookout as an annual fundraising event. With emerging needs on the rise, they looked to continue their summer cookout fundraiser tradition with a twist to preserve the safety of all their supporters. This event will take place as a drive through event Saturday, July 18 at the Rendezvous parking lot, 3127 Lucas Street. Cars should enter the James Street side entrance. The event has grown over the past years and represents a major part of Senior Resources’ overall fundraising campaign, which sustains their ongoing services to the elderly, low-income, and
disabled people in our community. They hope to host another successful fundraiser this year.

While a drive through event seems to lack the fun summer feel of their previous events, Senior Resources will have elements that will make the drive through worth the $10 ticket price. The generous summer meal will fill you up, guaranteed. You may also access limited social distancing seating on the Rendezvous grounds.

For more information or to purchase advanced tickets, please contact Senior Resources at 563-263-7292. You may also purchase tickets the day of the events.
