Members of the Muscatine High School soil sciences classes have been working on soil evaluation over the first month of the school year. They have been working on identifying landscape, slope, texture, water issues, and erosion problems in the different soil horizons. Classes have worked on the components and started to put it all together as they judged some soil pits. They were tested on their knowledge of the soil and competed against other teams to show off their skills. The following members competed in the district soil judging competition: Elsie Lewis, Chale Lewis, Anna Boyer, Emily King, Nico Areco, and Kacee Riess.
