    MUSCATINE, Iowa – The City of Muscatine will be closing two streets on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019, for milling in preparation of asphalt overlay. The City and the asphalt contractor will close Cypress Street between the #9 alley and Isett Avenue, and 57th Street between 67th Avenue and the railroad tracks. The date for the overlay has not been determined as yet.

    Cypress truck traffic will be detoured west on Washington Street, to Park Avenue, to Clay, and back to Isett Avenue. Regular Cypress traffic will be detoured north on Poplar, west on 11th, north on Mulberry, and then east on Woodlawn back to Isett Avenue.

    Drivers are urged to use caution when in these areas and to find alternate routes when possible.
