Muskie Students & Families,

Earlier this morning, Governor Reynolds signed into law a bill that says school districts cannot require masks to be worn. According to the legislation, school boards and superintendents cannot require employees, students, or members of the public to wear a facial covering while on the district property. Following that law, the use of face coverings will now be at the discretion of students and their families.

We continue to strongly recommend that face coverings be worn for the remaining six days of school. We believe that the use of masks have allowed us to remain in-person for the majority of this school year. The CDC and our local public health officials have continued to urge the use of masks in school due to the large number of students still not vaccinated. It is also important that any MCSD students or staff members who are feeling ill stay home. Face coverings are still required to be worn while riding MCSD operated school buses per an order from the CDC

Thank you to all MCSD students, families and staff for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate this extremely challenging year.

Clint Christopher
MCSD Superintendent
