WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL             ANNOUNCEMENTS                       01/21/2020

Today is a GOLD Day!

Upcoming events and dates to remember:

Students! Do you enjoy our quarterly Muskie Celebrations? Do you want to help create fun events for West students and staff? Now is your chance! Join the Muskie Celebration Committee. A group of students will work with teachers to plan the next Muskie Celebration. You will get to have a say in what events happen, help plan activities, and gain leadership skills. There is a sign-up sheet outside of room 18. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Duran.

Today we start our second week of Pennies for Patients. I hope you brought in all the coins and dollars you collected over the weekend! Last week we raised $51.32 to help cure cancer, and this week we want to raise even more! Come on, Muskies! We can step it up and do more for these families in need. I’m excited to announce that Miss Riley’s classroom is in the lead with $29.69. Mrs. Horton’s class isn’t far behind with $11.09. The Penny War competition will be over this Friday, January 24th. There is still plenty of time for your class to take the lead and earn a breakfast party! Thank you for your participation!

SWIMMERS! We have Swimming Sign Up Sheets in our office areas. Swim practice begins on Monday, January 27th @ 6:15 AM – 7:45 AM at MHS Pool; Swimmers will need to find their own ride to practice. We invite any and all students who love to splish, splash, and splat their way around a pool to join. It’s lots of fun, and great exercise. You must have a current physical, concussion form, and Insurance waiver completed to participate.

Sign –up is on the Gold office window.

Muskie Store is Open! The district has partnered with Phelps Custom Apparel to offer our staff, families, and community Muskie Apparel! This online store does not close meaning that it remains open for all of your Muskie clothing needs throughout the year.
Go to: https://stores.inksoft.com/phelpsstores_muscatine_muskies/shop/home and check it out!
