Today is a PURPLE Day!

 

Upcoming events and dates to remember:

 

Tickets are now available for the Central and West Middle School Combined Musical, Aladdin Jr. The shows are Saturday, March 2nd at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 3rd at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $5.00 for ages Kindergarten to adult. Kids under Kindergarten age are free. Tickets are general admission with no reserved seating. Please come join us for a magical night with Genie, Aladdin and Jasmine in the wonderful city of Agrabah. Tickets may be purchased ahead of time in the main offices at West and Central. Checks should be made out to CMS Drama. Tickets will be available on the day of the performance as well. 

 

Attention 6th graders: Registration information is available in the GOLD office for Youth Sports Foundation Spring Co-Ed Track & Field! Cost is $40.00 and deadline to register is March 18th. Contact Joni Kerr at the YSF office at 563-288-2541 for more information.

 

8th graders who have not received their course request sheets and curriculum guidebooks for high school, please stop in student services to pick one up.

If you are interested in winning awards and money for creating a science project, the science fair might be for you.  This is open to all students.

Please sign up in the purple office with Ms. Kathy.

Meeting times will be held during MTSS in Mrs. Schroeder’s room 23.

Deadline to register for the science fair is February 22, 2019.

 

The 7th annual Race For The Schools 5K and Muskie Mile TIMED run will be held on Saturday, May 4th at the Muscatine High School. Registration packets are available in both the GOLD and PURPLE offices. Registration fees increase after April 25th so sign up soon!

 

The course selection process for the 2019-2020 school year at Muscatine High School will begin February 12th for students currently in 8th Grade. Mr. Welsch, Mrs. Thomas and Ms. Beran from Muscatine High School will conduct classroom visits to provide students with course information and guidance on the course selection process.

 

Students will receive a HS Graduation Plan and a Course Selection Form during this visit. (*IMPORTANT: Parents must sign this form and students will it return it during their one on one Course Selection appointment)

 

8th Grade Course Selection:

Parents are required to attend a one on one meeting for Course Selection.  Parents should contact Jane Price, Student Services secretary, at WMS to schedule the appointment. Call early to reserve your appointment time.

 

  • February 27th – Appointments will be available from 7:45-3:30
  • February 28th – Appointments will be available from 7:30-5:45

It is very important that the courses selected at the appointment time are very well thought out. Students will NOT be allowed to change courses after the Master Schedule has been finalized. Thank you.

 

 

Students interested in helping with lights, sound, and staging for the middle school musical should pick up an application from Mr. Swartzendruber in the choir room and return the form to him by Wednesday, February 13th. No late applications will be considered and only a select number of students will be selected for the 12-15 spots available. Please fill out the application completely.

 

For your convenience all athletic and activity events can now be found on the WMS calendar.  This one stop convenient calendar will make it easy for staff, students and parents to access dates and times for all activities. Just click on the “School Calendar” tab at the top right.
