Brett Eldredge re-records his original song, “Raymond,” for the Alzheimer’s Association “Music Moments” album. In this behind-the-scenes video, Eldredge shares his personal connection to the song and his thoughts on the power of music to connect us to life’s important moments. “She was there for me from beginning to end.” Brett Eldredge is a country music singer-songwriter who’s had seven chart-topping, Gold and Platinum-certified singles across three albums. Eldredge wrote “Raymond” about his late grandmother as a way to make sense of his feelings about her advancing battle with Alzheimer’s. “This is somebody that knew everything about me her entire life,” Eldredge says. “I chased that emotion down and I wrote, and tried to work through it and cope with it that way.” The message behind “Raymond” is one of love and kindness, which Eldredge feels is especially about caregivers. “They’re angels,” he says. Eldredge says that he’s optimistic about finding a cure for Alzheimer’s and looks forward to celebrating that joyful day with music.
